Free performance series “Friday Night Lawns” to light up Edgewater

The producers of the recent hit Fable Festival, which took place in May 2012 in community spaces throughout Edgewater, are back with a new performance series, FRIDAY NIGHT LAWNS.  Audiences come together in underutilized, urban spaces and enjoy arts events in their neighborhood.

The following events are free and open to the public with a $5 suggested donation to cover costs.  Audiences can bring blankets and/or chairs.

Friday, August 3rd LIVE MUSIC on Senn High School’s front lawn. 

5900 N. Glenwood Avenue.

7pm Angela James, Chicago’s own Country Gal.

8pm Thomas Comerford, listed among “Best Chicago Music” by Pete Zimmerman, Huffington Post.

Friday, August 10th SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKING LOT, CHICAGO.

Alamo Shoes Parking Lot, corner of Clark St. and Summerdale in Andersonville.

Backroom Shakespeare performs ROMEO AND JULIET in the spirit of the Bard.  Serious actors.  One rehearsal.  No director.  Lots of fun.  Show starts around 8pm in the parking lot.  Join us for drinks beforehand at Acre 5308 N. Clark St.
